Presentation

Dr. Juraci A. Oliveira is an agronomist and received his doctorate in Plant Physiology in 1998 from the Federal University of Viçosa (UFV), Brazil. Currently, he is an Associate Professor in the General Biology Department at UFV. Dr. Oliveira is a recipient of Research Productivity Fellowships from the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq, Brazil) and the Foundation for Research Assistance of Minas Gerais State, Brazil (Fapemig). He serves as an "ad hoc" referee for various international journals and as a consultant for CNPq. His research has chiefly been focused on the biochemical and physiological basis of plant responses to pollutants, particularly heavy metals and metalloids, as well as phytoremediation. His current projects have been funded by Fapemig and CNPq.
